The History of T-Mobile's Sidekick

Everything began in October 2002 when T-Mobile released the first Sidekick, "The black and white Sidekick", produced by Sharp.
A monochrome 2.6-inch screen swivels up to showcase a full QWERTY keyboard specifically targeting frequent users of e-mail and instant messaging. Sidekick users could send and receive email and attachments from up to three POP3 email accounts, surf the Web with a full HTML browser, and an attachable camera was available as a separate purchase at the time.
